Reburbished Greenhouse

October 7th, 2015 by Estelle Mays

Barb, from Our Fair Home and Garden, saw a few antique windows a yard sale and set off on a path of creative genius. After gathering more windows from family and friends she set out to create her own greenhouse.  After seeing this, you might consider gathering and re-purposing some old windows yourself!

This peculiar green pod, called Nigella damascena (but better known as love-in-a-mist), is another member of the Ranunculus family. Talk about an eclectic plant genus…

The Papal Visit 2015

September 22nd, 2015 by Estelle Mays

When Pope Francis touches down at Andrews Air Force Base on Tuesday, he will set off on the kind of backbreaking itinerary for which this 78-year-old pontiff has become known. With 18 scheduled stops in three states over six days, the pope’s pace will be challenging to match.pope francis

A complete rundown of Francis’ schedule from Sept. 22-27 can be found on the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops website.

Our florists in Washington DC, New York City and Philadelphia will be heavily effected by Pope Francis’ visit this week.

As they prepare for the momentous event, please note that most of Washington, DC will not be serviceable Wed/Thurs, Sept 23 and 24.

NYC will be effected Thurs thru Sat morning, Sept 24 – 26.

Philadelphia and areas immediately surrounding will be effected Thurs thru Monday, Sept 24 – 28.
