Our New York member Belle Fleur’s exquisite mini scented votive candles are featured in the November issue of In Style magazine.  These votives are a new item for Belle Fleur this year, and are available in assorted gift packs. Each pack has one of each scent: Jasmine Verbena, Orange Blossom Pomegranate, and White Orchid Tea.

The article, which talks about ways to improve your memory, stated that smelling a mixed floral scent increases the speed of learning by 17 percent.

Krislyn Design, a popular member florist of ours, graced the pages of House Beautiful in June, having earned the honor of creating a luxurious tablescape for Monique Lhuillier’s chic Los Angeles dining room.

Monique loves an abundance of flowers on her tables, with lots of candles to cast a romantic spell, and Krislyn delivered just that, using carved-out birch logs filled with hydrangea and roses for an organic, dreamy texture.  The final touch was interspersing handblown beaker glass candlesticks and glamorous rock crystal votives throughout.

Our member florist Nisie’s Enchanted Florist in Los Alamitos, CA.  created a romantic, oh-so-elegant table design for The Bride and Bloom Winter 2008 edition.  Using an opulent crystal candelabra, they created a sparklely soft arrangement and tablescape with gorgeous pastel flowers, gold accents and bold blue linens.  This is surely a decadent vision… reminiscent of a dinner party at Versailles.   Special touches, such as the embossed gold chargers and crystal votive holders, add a magical texture to the table setting.  We just love the ribbon-wrapped clusters of white lisianthus flowers at each place setting… it’s like a miniature bouquet for every guest!

Lovely white hydrangeas, pale pink and soft cream colored roses, white dahlias and lisianthus all blend perfectly together to create this elegant arrangement.

Our member florist, L’Olivier, has an amazing private garden in downtown Manhattan, and Garden Design Magazine hosted a VIP gathering there.  The champagne was flowing as internationally renowned floral designer Olivier Giugni wowed the crowd with his secrets for creating chic arrangements.  If  you asked Olivier Giugni about his garden, he would tell you that it was enchantée. His lush garden has been artfully landscaped with an original mix of trees and plants including wax privet topiaries, Japanese stewartia, Japanese Maple, morning glory vines, asparagus ferns, different varieties of jasmine and even pineapples. Born in Provence, Giugni has always been inspired by the rich color palette of the South of France and its fragrant herbs which mixed with his strong sense of modern design gives him his signature style.

Truly a hidden paradise on an otherwise hectic corner of downtown Manhattan,  the garden has been a special venue for many parties and small weddings. The 1500 square foot garden can host 50 guests (standing) for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. A bar can be set up in the charming pergola with a few food stations.

Dinner can be served in the 1500 square foot interior of the floral shop which can be transformed by his event staff to hold one long  table of 30 with 2 round tables of 10. For those looking for something more intimate, L’Olivier can set a table for 12 guests on the covered outside deck.  If all this weren’t enough, L’Olivier caters, too!  It is an event planner’s dream… venue, flowers, food… all in one amazing place, orchestrated on by a brilliant designer who also has a warm, generous personality that lights up our world!

These gorgeous table settings were created by our wonderful member florist Couture Flowers, in Newport Beach, CA. This wedding was featured in the “Table Décor” section of this winter’s edition of Bride and Bloom. With the theme of “Tropical Romance” as inspiration, they designed this feminine, lush spread in shades of pinks, peaches, purples, greens and browns. The abundant centerpieces were overflowing with beautiful dahlias, viburnum, dahlias, roses, and lilacs. Flowers even adorned the chandeliers! The green button mum pomanders added whimsy to the setting, as did the lavender sweet peas tucked into the linens. Truly an elegant and romantic display!

Mandy Scott Flowers, one of our fabulous member florists, was featured in the Real Weddings section of the Winter 2008 edition of The Bride and Bloom. They created a fantastic event using pink, pewter, fuchsia and green as the theme colors.This classic chic wedding was held at Clos LaChance Winery in San Martin, CA.  Beautiful glass pedestal bowls were filled with blush peonies, fuchsia spray roses, hydrangea, deep pink ranunculus, green viburnum, and finished with bear grass inside the bowl for a modern, yet soft look.

There were pomanders of hot pink roses hanging from the doorknobs and throughout the venue and  delicious mini-pears were used as place card holders… how cute!

The bridal bouquet is a fluffy mix of pink and white peonies and the groom’s boutonniere is a simple cluster of begonia blooms and ivy, wrapped with black satin ribbon. Lovely. Just lovely.   www.mandyscottflowers.com

The colorful combination from LMD consists of yellow and hot pink phaelenopsis orchids blossoms, French ranunculus, cabbage roses, sweet peas, and gloriosa lilies.

And the rich colored concoction from Rosenow Floral Design was created using blue muscari, bright yellow billy buttons, delphinium, anemones, calla lilies, sweet peas, and tulips.

Just goes to show you – coast to coast, bbrooks member florists are the crème de la crème!
